Education

Sophomore Chemistry Major at Smith College

Experience

Throughout my sophomore and junior year of high school, I was an after school math peer tutor for students who didn't comprehend the lessons for that day and needed more practice. I would also help my younger sister with her homework on various different subjects including History, English, Science, and Math. During my senior year of high school, I took AP Chemistry and AP BC Calculus and helped my peers study for upcoming exams and helped them with any topic they did not understand. I want to be a tutor simply because helping people has been such a big part of my life thus far and I would love to continue doing it. There's also a joy in knowing that you helped someone understand a concept that was totally foreign to them prior to your explaining. It also helps me learn what the most effective way is to get concepts across to someone else. In high school, I took Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre- Calculus, AP BC Calculus, Chemistry, Earth Science, Physics, AP Chemistry, English (8 semesters), U.S. History, Global History, etc. In college, I've taken General Chemistry, Chemical Analysis, Calculus 3, Linear Algebra, Physics 1, English, Biology (Intro), etc. I have strong communication skills to help my tutees understand concepts. I am able to use my Spanish and English bilingual capabilities to help students that need help in those languages.
